In 1965 Cecil D. Trahan started as a residential and commercial contractor. By the early 1970's he had four construction branch offices in the State of Louisiana; and by 1978 he began developing office parks and commercial centers, and focused his operations in Lafayette, Louisiana. The most recent developments include private high-end gated and restricted communities; the purchase and renovation of a 72,000 square foot office building in the heart of the Oil Center, and the purchase of a downtown site with plans to construct a unique high-rise condominium and retail food court complex.

The growth of Lafayette has helped his real estate brokerage business with opportunities of great success. He continues to work and represent national chain companies and landowners for the sale of properties in the area.
